Set up Dictation

Enhanced Dictation is available in OS X Mavericks v10.9 or later. With Enhanced Dictation:
- You can dictate continuously.
- You can dictate without being connected to the Internet.
- Your words might convert to text more quickly.
- You can use dictation commands to tell your Mac what to do.
Without Enhanced Dictation, your spoken words and certain other data are sent to Apple to be converted into text and help your Mac understand what you mean. As a result, your Mac must be connected to the Internet, your words might not convert to text as quickly, and you can speak for no more than 40 seconds at a time (30 seconds in OS X Yosemite or earlier).
If you're on a business or school network that uses a proxy server, Dictation might not be able to connect to the Internet. Have your network administrator refer to the list of network ports used by Apple software products.

The macOS Rich Text Editor library allows for rich text editing via a native NSTextView. Rich Text Editor For Mobile
I have recently made the complete switch to Mac and I am now looking for the Mac equivalent to Trangolos Keynote, a very simple program I use to manage my to do lists (http://www.tranglos.com/free/keynote.html) . Basically, the program I need is a rich text editor (bold, hyperlink support, etc) with tabs.I have tried a number of different text editors over the last couple of days but they all either have way to many features (i.e Circus Ponies Notebook) or are geared toward coding (TextMate is great but overkill for my purpose).
If Mac's default text editor had tabs I would be set. Is anyone aware of a lighweight, tabbed Rich Text editor for the Mac?

I do understand the option you have suggested, and was aware of that, but my description of the issue wasn't clear in differentiating between the set up that Photos is giving, versus the option to assign text on any photo. That is easy to do because under the Customize keyboard --> Edit options it's right there. That option is not available from the standard Customize Keyboard menu options (at least as far as I can see). If you're ever faced with a Windows or Linux system, it's handy to have one tool you know that works. • Vim is fine if you have to work over ssh and the remote system or your computer can't do X11. I used to love Vim for the ease of editing large files and doing repeated commands. But these days, it's a no-vote for me, with the annoyance of the non-standard search & replace (using (foo) groups instead of (foo), etc.), painfully bad multi-document handling, lack of a project/disk browser view, lack of AppleScript, and bizarre mouse handling in the GVim version.
